As the name suggests paper dyes are used for colouring paper. There are different types of dyes used for colouring paper, like Acid Dyes, Basic Dyes and Direct Dyes. Different dyes have different properties and are used in different kind of paper.
have high affinity to wood from which paper is made and hence they are widely used. Basic dyes are used for internal colouring of one-time use paper like box boards, wrappings, notion bag papers newsprint etc.They are generally available in Liquid and Powder form.

Direct dyes are used for colouring for all type of fine and coarse papers from thinnest facial tissues to the heaviest paper and boards. Direct Dyes are rarely used for surface colouring because they exhaust rapidly onto the cellulose. They are mainly available in Liquid Form.

Paper Pulp can be coloured by either batch or continuous method.
In batch method the colouring maybe effected in a pulper, beather, cycling chest or blending chest based on the quantity of fibre.
In Continuous process the dye solution or pigment suspensions are metered into a moving stream of pulps.
The paper can be coated to provide ultra smooth surface for quality printing.
