Solvent Green 7, widely known as Pyranine, is a unique and highly fluorescent dye. While it is a solvent dye, it is noted for its excellent solubility in water and polar solvents like alcohols. It produces an intensely brilliant, yellowish-green fluorescence, visible even at extremely low concentrations. Its primary industrial uses are in leak detection oils, antifreeze, and as a colorant for soaps and detergents where a vibrant, fluorescent green is desired.
